Countering divisive narratives and fostering constructive dialogue on racism, sectarianism, and misinformation.

Overview:

Disinformation is shaping public debate, fuelling division, and undermining trust in communities across the island of Ireland and beyond. Misleading narratives can amplify racism, anti-migrant sentiment, and sectarian division, hindering efforts to strengthen understanding and cross-border connection.

This webinar brings together youth workers from Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, alongside colleagues from Europe, to explore how local and cross-border initiatives can strengthen democratic participation, social cohesion, and inclusive civic engagement. Participants will share insights, experiences, and practical strategies to address disinformation in their communities.

Why Attend?

  • Hear first-hand stories from youth workers addressing disinformation and community cohesion across the island of Ireland.
  • Explore how local, all-island, and EU policies intersect to support democratic values and inclusive civic engagement.
  • Participate in cross-border dialogue connecting civic society actors across Ireland and beyond.
  • Contribute ideas to ongoing projects on disinformation, community cohesion, and democratic participation.
