In 2022, Comhlámh and the Comhlámh Justice for Palestine Group joined with other Irish NGO’s, individuals and activist groups to form the Anti-Apartheid Campaign for Palestine. Currently, the coalition consists of 23 Irish civil society organisations representing a collective membership of over one million people across the island.

The Irish Anti-Apartheid Campaign for Palestine is calling on Ireland and the international community to publicly recognise that the State of Israel is committing the crime of apartheid against the Palestinian people, and to take concrete measures to end this crime against humanity.

Anti-Apartheid Campaign for Palestine has two aims:

  1. Have the Irish Government, and others, recognise what is happening as Apartheid under international law.
  2. Bring an end to this crime and ensure human rights for all.

Through shared actions, campaigns and advocacy initiatives, the group has pledged to engage members of the Irish public and political representatives on the situation of Palestinians and to build political support for effective measures by Ireland and the international community to condemn Israel’s actions and to end the crime of apartheid against Palestinians.

The coalition, made up of 23 civil society organisations, trade unions and academic experts committed to working collaboratively to end Israeli apartheid against Palestinians, was launched in Dublin, in November 2022 today by Independent Senator Frances Black, a long-time campaigner for Palestinian rights.

On the 27th of October 2023, the Campaign released a joint statement on the situation in Gaza and Israel.

Israel’s Apartheid Against Palestinians Report

In February 2022, Amnesty published the report Israel’s Apartheid Against Palestinians: Cruel System of Domination and Crime Against Humanity, exposing Israel’s oppressive regime across all areas under its control, including the Occupied Palestinian Territories. This systematic discrimination, benefiting Jewish Israelis, constitutes apartheid under international law. We urge you to delve into this crucial report.
