Solidarity Beyond Borders:

Cultivating a Community of Practice across Ireland and Beyond

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Solidarity Beyond Borders: Cultivating a Community of Practice across Ireland and Beyond

In 2025, Comhlámh, in partnership with the Centre for Global Education, delivered a cross-border civic society project focused on strengthening collaboration, capacity, and shared learning across Ireland. The project brought together civic society organisations and community groups to explore the root causes of rising racism, anti-migrant sentiment, antisemitism, and Islamophobia, and to examine how these dynamics intersect with peace, reconciliation, and the ongoing realisation of the Good Friday Agreement.

Through dialogue, skills development, and collective reflection, the project supported more informed and inclusive engagement across civic society, recognising that addressing these challenges is a shared responsibility. By fostering connections and building a community of practice across the island, the project contributed to countering division, strengthening social cohesion, and promoting constructive public dialogue.
