The Comhlámh End Orphanage Volunteering Working Group was proud to contribute to the Global Case Study: How to Regulate the Issue of Voluntourism with Children, launched earlier this month by ECPAT International (End Child Prostitution and Trafficking).
The study explores international efforts to address the risks of voluntourism involving children and highlights actionable models and promising practices from both origin and destination countries. It serves as a technical guide for governments, businesses, and civil society organisations committed to child protection.
Through this important publication, we shared insights from our ongoing #SayNoToOrphanages campaign, which since 2016 has worked to end orphanage volunteering and promote global care reform focused on family- and community-based alternatives.
