Comhlámh and our partners in the Erasmus+ DEFY project are delighted to be hosting a January Pocket Workshop and Exhibition. Over the last 3 years, DEFY has been creating rare spaces for educators working in or adjacent to Global Citizenship Education (GCE) to explore entanglement in cascading crises of poverty, inequality, genocide, ecological collapse (‘difficult-knowledge’). A guiding question for the project has been how purposeful engagement with difficult-knowledge might deepen our practice as well as our readiness to hold space for others.
The experiences and insights of those involved in the project have inspired two zines and a new handbook for educators on navigating difficult-knowledge and discomfort. We are excited to share these pieces on January 27th, by way of a Pocket Workshop and Exhibition. Anyone who has participated in the project, or who has an interest in these important topics, is welcome to join.
