Mission Statement

Voluntary Service International is the Irish Branch of Service Civil International, a worldwide movement working for peace and international understanding through the medium of voluntary work projects, international exchanges and education and awareness programmes. We base our work on the following values: volunteering, non-violence, human rights, solidarity, respect for the environment, inclusion, empowerment, and cooperation. VSI has three different volunteer programmes: the International Volunteer Projects Programme (Europe, North America, Japan, South Korea, Australia), the Long Term Volunteering Programme (Europe, North America), and the Africa, Asia Latin America and Middle East Programme.

Application Procedure

International Volunteer Projects Programme: Volunteers can download and complete forms from web; from VSI annual book or from VSI office and send to VSI with application fee to cover insurance and administration. Long Term Volunteering: Volunteers can download forms from web, or from the VSI office and complete and send to VSI with application fee. Africa/Asia/Latin America, Middle East Programme: Volunteers can get the application form at the Information Workshops run in January/February around the country or from the VSI office. Then complete and return to the VSI office with appropriate fees.
