Mission Statement

Viatores Christi (VC) is an Irish NGO working in the area of development cooperation in the faith-based development sector since 1960.
We specialise in the recruitment, training and placement of skilled volunteers on projects identified by a mission partner which meets the needs of the beneficiaries. We also specialise in the monitoring and implementation of projects as well as in the provision of experts in developing countries for targeted consultancy.

Application Procedure
Apply directly to Viatores Christi (VC) at to receive an application form. VC will then invite applicants to meet with at an information and recruitment session or at their offices and discuss the next steps. Aspiring volunteers are encouraged to undertake their 4 weekend training programme. (consisting of one weekend for four consecutive months). While providing them with grounding in practical overseas development it assists them to discern what they would like to do and where and when they would like to go overseas.  This is particularly suitable for those who wish to volunteer but do not have a timeframe in mind. The available roles are discussed and updated regularly.  Direct recruitment for experienced development workers is also undertaken.

Volunteers are  required to fundraise €1000 as a contribution to the high cost of placement, €400 of which is payable upfront and goes towards the four-month training programme which covers materials, facilitators and meals. €600 is a once off cost and goes towards costs of the placement and is payable prior to departing on assignment.

Comprehensive support before, during and after assignment.  Monthly living allowance, vaccinations, insurances, return flights and a resettlement grant on return are all covered subject to successful application.
