Today marks the departure of our dear colleague Sandra Byrne. Sandra has been a member of the Comhlamh staff team since 2017, mainly in her capacity as Volunteer Quality Project Officer and more recently as Interim Programme Manager. With a background in community development, Sandra brought such care and depth to her work with VSA colleagues on the Code of Good Practice and, as part of the End Orphanage Volunteering Working Group, made a significant contribution to the case for the de-institutionalization of care and an to end orphanage volunteering.
We are going to miss Sandra immensely – her collegiality, commitment to social justice and sense of fun. Her next move is made for her though and for this, we are so happy and excited for what is next Sandra!
