New Erasmus+ project starts this October
We’re excited to announce a new project that’s starting this October, which will enable Comhlámh to develop our work with civil society organisations who are supporting migrants arriving in crisis situations in Europe. Funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ programme, the project involves organisations from Greece, Italy and Spain, who bring diverse and complementary experience from the fields of humanitarian aid, sustaining activism, and migration. The project is called “Working for a Better World: Sustaining Civic Responses to Migration”, and will run over 30 months.
During this time, partners will work to build resilient practices and cultures within EU-based civil society organisations. This will help to help address the psychosocial support needs of frontline staff and volunteer responders, who are working with migrants arriving into the EU. Using a peer education model, the project will focus on assisting migrant support organisations to foster the key competences needed to sustain their work. Our activities will include learning opportunities for representatives from civil society organisations, conferences, research, training manuals, and a learning journal from practitioners.
