Purpose of the Fund

The Dympna Meaney Women’s Leadership Development Fund seeks to connect women leaders from Africa, Asia, and/or Central or South America with skills building opportunities that strengthen their contribution to global human rights and equality.

 

Since 2015 the Fund has supported over 19 women’s human rights activists with bursaries to the value of up to €3000 each. The Fund is focused on supporting women in the global south working with refugees, displaced and migrant populations to combat Gender Based Violence (GBV)

 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants for the 2019 bursaries must be women over the age of eighteen currently engaged in: (a) a project/work which supports advocacy or training on advocacy work related to supporting refugees, migrants and displaced people from the global south with a focus on addressing GBV and/or (b) service provision/supports with a focus on addressing GBV for refugees, migrants and displaced people from the global south

 

  • Applicants must demonstrate how they will use the bursary to access a skills building opportunity and how this will contribute to/impact on combatting Gender Based Violence.

 

  • Successful applicants will be required to participate in any monitoring and reporting requirements identified by the Fund.

 

  • Successful applicants will be required to provide two written relevant references as to their track record and suitability as recipients of this special Fund

 

  • Successful applicants will be required to participate in sharing their experience in publicity related to the Fund.

 

  • The Fund will not support participation in or presentation at a conference except when this is used to advocate on behalf of refugees, migrants and displaced people from the global south.You can check out and download the application form below by clicking the arrow at the bottom of the document reader.
